Haikyuu!! follows the sporting adventures of the Karasuno High School volleyball team, with more focus on Shoyo Hinata, a boy whose love for volleyball is boundless. While Hinata may be small, a subject of ridicule by some of his teammates, this does not stop him from wanting to become the best volleyball player he can be. In particular, he hopes to rival the skills of the arrogant “King of the Court”, Tobio Kageyama, who is also on the Karasuno team. The anime recently concluded its fourth season. No official word has been revealed on the premiere date for a potential season five.

On April 24, Shonen Jump’s official Twitter account posted the release of a free special one-shot of the manga entitled “A Party Reignited”. The account also posted a link to read the chapter on VIZ, the official source. Furudate penned this chapter.
The special chapter takes Haikyuu!! international. It takes place after the main characters have completed high school and are living their lives as adults. The chapter opens with Tetsuro Kuroo, the former captain of Nekoma High volleyball team and Karasuno’s main rivals. He is now part of the Sports Promotion Division in the Japan Volleyball Association.
His job is to increase the number of volleyball fans in Japan and around the world. In 2021, he proposed special all-star match for players all over the world. In the present day, Kuroo is now inviting a few select players to participate in this match, whether they were former friends or foes.
Fans can expect to see the same humor and charm from the original series and anime, although perhaps the biggest attraction to the one-shot is the characters we know and love carrying on the same competetive spirit as adults. Out of the characters that have returned to the chapter, naturally, Hinata and Kageyama are there too - playing on opposite teams, that is.
Both boys are members of teams around the world, Kageyama being the setter for Ali Roma in Rome and Hinata playing in the Asas São Paulo team in Brazil. Even after high school, Hinata and Kageyama’s fierce competition with each other still burns bright, albeit with more respect and maturity.
