The public wasted no time vocalizing their sympathy for Willis. It’s not surprising in the slightest to see Osment go out of his way to praise Willis given that The Sixth Sense, directed by M. Night Shyamalan, is arguably his most famous film.

Osment took to Instagram to express his condolences both to Willis and his family as well as praise Willis for his impact both on Osment himself and on the entertainment industry as a whole. “It’s been difficult to find the right words for someone I’ve always looked up to—first on the big screen, and then by some wild stroke of luck, in person,” Osment said. “He’s a true legend who has enriched all of our lives with a singular career that spans nearly half a century. I am so grateful for what I got to witness firsthand, and for the enormous body of work he built for us to enjoy for years and years to come. I just wanted to express the respect and deep admiration I have for Bruce and his family as they move forward with the courage and high spirits that have always defined them.”
In a way, it’s heartwarming to see that over twenty years later since the release of The Sixth Sense, Osment still remembers the bond he had with Willis even as a child and went out of his way to let the public know about it. Osment may not be as relevant of an actor now, as he became a huge star upon the movie’s release back in 1999. However, at a time like this, where people are taking the time to remember Willis’ lengthy career, it’s great to see that Osment didn’t waste any time singing Willis’ praises.
Better yet, Osment’s sentiment is far from the only praises Willis has received ever since his diagnosis ever went public. Many have come out to both express their sympathy in light of what has happened and praise the Die Hard star for his work as an actor. During a time in which finding unity is beyond difficult, It’s times like these that truly unify everyone. People unify over such tragic news surrounding someone like Willis because of the impact he had on them as an entertainer.
Plus, in all honesty, these praises Willis has been getting over the past few days are well-deserved. Even though Willis was best known in Hollywood for his efforts as an action star, he also had excellent comedic timing, which is how he broke through in Hollywood and added some extra appeal to his movies. Willis truly brought something unique to the film industry in his time as an actor, which is why his early retirement because of forces out of his control understandably breaks everyone’s hearts.
