While the former Halo voice actor has not played the alien space admiral in a long time, he’s found steady work over the last decade and a half. This includes some far more explicitly political projects, such as his latest stint directing the anti-Biden propaganda film, My Son Hunter.

The film stars Laurence Fox as Hunter Biden, John James as Joe Biden, and ex-MMA fighter and former The Mandalorian star Gina Carano as a secret service agent. It purports to tell the “true” story of Hunter Biden. However, it mostly appears to focus on the conspiracy theories related to Hunter Biden’s business dealings in Ukraine and jokes about President Biden’s alleged senility. This includes a bizarre scene of John James as Joe Biden kissing Gina Carano’s neck.
My Son Hunter comes from The Unreported Society, whose previous projects include ObamaGate the Movie, a “Hamilton style” stage production that claims to expose the “Deep State” conspiracy against former President Donald Trump. Meanwhile, My Son Hunter is also being distributed by the far-right news and commentary site Breitbart, and the film is exclusively available on Donald Trump’s Twitter alternative Truth Social.
Hunter Biden’s laptop plays a significant role in My Son Hunter’s plot, depicting Biden berating his son for losing it. Said laptop is frequently brought up in relation to the larger Biden-Ukraine conspiracy theory, around which the film seems to revolve. The theory alleges that Biden abused his power as Vice President to protect Hunter’s employer, Burisma, from a criminal investigation in Ukraine. The lack of evidence has not stopped the Biden family’s supposed corruption from becoming a frequent right-wing talking point.
The film also seems to present Hunter as a charismatic antihero along the lines of Jordon Belfort from The Wolf of Wall Street while depicting Joe Biden as the scheming mastermind behind a vast criminal conspiracy.
