343 Industries’ Dan Ayoub announced alongside the news that the collection had gone gold that The Master Chief Collection will require a 20GB content update on launch day. This is a result of the four Halo games already taking up a sizable amount of space on the blu-ray disc they come on, which didn’t leave much (or any) room for anything else. 343’s main goal with this collection was to give fans classic Halo games in the best quality they could, hence the update....

After an unpopular reveal in 2020, 343 Industries decided to delay the game to focus on its quality. Halo Infinite was given a fresh look at E3 2021, which proved to resonate with fans better.
